Celebrating Life: Commemorating World Environment Day and Anniversary of Spix’s Macaw Conservation Units in Caatinga
August 11, 2023On the last 5th of June, from 9 am to 12 pm, the Events Square of Curaçá (BA) was the stage for a truly special occasion. Not only did we celebrate World Environment Day, but we also commemorated the anniversary of the conservation units of our precious gem of the Caatinga, the Blue-and-Gold Macaw. This memorable event was marked by a collective sense of commitment to environmental preservation and a unique natural treasure.
The occasion was highlighted by the active participation of BlueSky and ACTP (Association for the Conservation of Threatened Parrots), in partnership with various other institutions that are part of the Council of this important mission. Together, we are dedicated to protecting the Blue-and-Gold Macaw and its home, the Caatinga. Our unity demonstrates the power of collaborative work when it comes to biodiversity conservation.
The celebration came to life at the Environmental Integration Fair, where we welcomed partners dedicated to the Caatinga cause, as well as devoted students interested in contributing to the preservation of this unique ecosystem. During the event, we shared valuable information about the importance of Blue-and-Gold Macaw conservation and the need to protect its natural habitat.
The Blue-and-Gold Macaw is much more than a bird. It is a symbol of our dedication to wildlife preservation and our efforts to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. With the combined efforts of organizations, institutions, and committed individuals, we are determined to make a difference and protect this natural treasure that is our Blue-and-Gold Macaw.
We extend our gratitude to all partners, supporters, and enthusiasts who joined us in this celebration. Each step taken towards biodiversity and Caatinga preservation is a step towards a healthier and balanced world. Together, we can pave a path of awareness and action for our environment, ensuring that the beauty and richness of the Blue-and-Gold Macaw continue to enrich our planet.
