Partnership Between Blue Sky and CETEP Maria de Almeida Araújo Boosts Environmental Education and Sustainability in the Caatinga

September 9, 2024

Great news for the students of the Maria de Almeida Araújo Regional Center for Professional Education (CETEP)! Blue Sky is excited to announce the launch of an internship program in partnership with CETEP, offering students a unique opportunity to combine theory with practice while strengthening their education as future professionals committed to environmental preservation.

The Caatinga biome, exclusive to Brazil, faces significant challenges due to environmental degradation and climate change. In this context, the private sector plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable practices and investing in projects that restore this vital ecosystem.

The collaboration between CETEP and Blue Sky is a concrete example of how education and sustainability can work hand in hand. Students from technical courses will have the chance to apply the concepts they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world scenarios, while also contributing to the preservation of the ecosystem they call home.

João Mendes Gomes Júnior, CETEP’s Director, emphasized the importance of this partnership: “These collaborations are essential for driving environmental education and creating sustainable economic alternatives. It’s crucial for governments, businesses, and civil society to work together to ensure the preservation of the Caatinga for future generations.”

Ernesto Machado, Blue Sky’s Project Manager, also highlighted the positive impact of this initiative: “We’re very pleased to offer this opportunity to CETEP students. The internship will allow them to experience firsthand the challenges and rewards of working in environmental preservation, particularly in such a unique biome as the Caatinga. We believe this experience will be key in shaping the next generation of environmentally conscious and committed professionals.”
